An image watermark adds visible text to a photo or graphic to show ownership, source, or usage context. Use it to label previews, drafts, product photos, tutorials, and portfolio samples.

A watermark can add a brand name, website, creator mark, copyright notice, or small label to an image. It is useful for product previews, portfolio samples, social media graphics, tutorial screenshots, and images shared publicly.
A good watermark is visible enough to identify the source but not so strong that it ruins the image. Placement, opacity, size, and contrast matter.
Corners are common because they are less distracting, but they can be cropped out easily. Center or repeated watermarks are harder to remove but can interfere with the image. For public previews, choose a balance based on how much protection you need.
Use lower opacity for subtle branding and higher opacity for clear ownership. Test the watermark on both light and dark images.
